saturday scenes...

  We've been having some good sunny days and hanging out around home doing projects and baking like crazy. I've been making a strict effort to not bring plastic into our lives in any way and wow... it's a challenge. I mean when you stop to think about how much plastic is in EVERYTHING, it's terrifying. I want to be mindful and think carefully about the food we're putting into our bodies and avoiding plastic will certainly help. bye bye convenience foods. it's for the best.

  We made beans and rice with cornbread & peppermint iced tea last night, banana muffins for breakfast and now my littlest helper and I are baking loves of spelt bread.

  I never knew there were so many different kinds of bees until I started to watch them and take notice. There are at least 4 different kinds of bumble bees living in our yard also. I love the bumble bees. They  don't make me feel that urge to run or swat like small quick bees do (I'm working on it...). I adore bumble bees. I find it very interesting that they build there hives (which are quite small, only about 50 or less bees-compared to other bees whose hives have 10s of thousands) the ground or in tree stumps and such.

  Our sunflowers seeds are getting started. A few more days till we see some popping up...
Hopefully there will be a bit of productive sewing time for mama. Our at least some crafting time w/ my babes....
