robins egg blue

Here, my neighbors, the crows, wonder why we are all so sick for sooo long! Yes! I wonder too. The last two weeks stretch behind us and envelop us in a kind of timeless, sick cocoon. A vortex of sorts... Will there ever be a time of wellness? well, most certainly, yes, but it seems so far away from the sick and now of this moment. Yesterday, at dinner time, there was a mountain of soiled hankies. I think I must've blown my nose 80 times!! I am a very busy active gal (perhaps that has something to do with my current sicky state, as I never let my body rest enough...) and being sick just kills me! eek! I just sneezed AGAIN... tomorrow will be better, fingers crossed, oh pretty please!

Snuck away with the bigger of the littles for a bit of pho which helped but then left me feeling a bit too full and a bit too hot...

The relentless gloom that is our northwest sky is taunting me and my dreams of beaches...

dreaming of a roadtrip through the southwest. old cars and roadtrips go together like cinnamon and sugar!

The mini blinds were really bothersome to look at in my sick state so I quickly used and old quilt top (thrifted-who goes through the trouble of putting the whole top together and then doesn't finish the quilt? a crime!)
and made a curtain. The blue of the background is one of my most favorite colors. It illuminates the entire room in a flush of color when the sun shines in. I think this maybe only a temporary solution as the man of the house would like something a bit more um... neutral over the window. He likes the whole cozy quilt den to an extent but I guess he doesn't want to see quilts everywhere...

And here's the view from my sick bed. I burned through my true blood dvds and actually started on sex and the city last night... sick of dang dvds....

  1. Poor you! We are a sickly family at the moment too, and have the added joy of a general strike in France tomorrow, so even the semi-healthy child can't go to school! We may well go mad...

I found your comment on dottie angel and wanted to welcome you to the Challenge of the Utmost Kind - it's great!

Your fantastic patchwork curtain is a great start, isn't it?
